If you haven't come across Peso Pluma yet, you soon will. The emerging Mexican artist has quickly risen to musical heights, currently leading the Billboard Global 200 and ranking among Spotify's top 5 most listened-to artists alongside heavyweights such as Bad Bunny, Drake, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.

In just a matter of months, Peso Pluma has established himself as a force to be reckoned with on the international stage. Pluma, 24, released his highly anticipated album, "Genesis," in June 2023. The album's success was preceded by his hit single "Ella Baila Sola" (she dances alone), a collaboration with Eslabom Armado.

The track climbed to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Notably, this marked the first time a "regional Mexican" single reached the top 10 of the all-genre chart. His musical style is predominantly influenced by Corridos Tumbados, a genre popularised by Nathanael Cano, characterised by its fusion of regional Mexican folk, rap, hip hop, and reggaeton.

The international success of Bad Bunny, widely credited with popularising Latin music worldwide, has undoubtedly played a significant role in propelling Peso Pluma and other up-and-coming Mexican artists like Becky G and Nathanael Cano to new heights.

Earlier this year, Bad Bunny released a remix of Cano's popular song "Soy El Diablo," further solidifying the bond between these talented artists. Peso Pluma's rise was evident in surprise appearance during Becky G's set at Coachella this year while recently gracing the stage of the Jimmy Fallon Tonight show. Currently on tour in the US, it's clear that Peso Pluma's skyrocketing success shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
